Diving into Dreams:

Practices in Dream Tending

“There is a loving in dream-work.  We sense that dreams mean well for us, back us up and urge us on, understand us more deeply than we understand ourselves, expand our sensuousness and spirit, continually make up new things to give us."

~ James Hillman

Have you ever felt astounded, baffled, confused, terrified, and/or fascinated by the dreams that visit you as you sleep?

Dreams offer us an incredible glimpse into the deep psyche and into the life of the soul.  Throughout the ages, people have recognized the wisdom hidden in the strange life of dreams.  They have the power to disrupt, to witness, to tell the truth in a way that serves as a medicine to our often overly rational and measured lives.

In this course, we will explore this strange and fertile landscape, cultivating a way of engaging with, listening to, and being with dreams.  We will learn to approach the dream as a living image, not as an object to be interpreted and used, but as a dynamic visitation to be listened to and honored.

We will approach the world of dreams both theoretically and experientially.  We will discuss major theoretical frameworks for working with dreams within depth psychology and we will also participate in both individual and group dream tending.

The intention of this learning experience is to provide a solid starting place for those who desire to pay closer attention to their dreams.

No previous experience in dream work is necessary.

All that is required is a respectful curiosity and a desire to dive more deeply into the mysterious and underworld realm of dreams.
